Here’s a sneak peek of everything you can expect at one of our popular 90-minute alpaca experiences.
For additional information, we’ve answered some common queries on our FAQ page.
Meet and greet
When you arrive at the farm, it won’t take you long to spot our herd of affable alpacas roaming freely in the field. They love making new friends, and will often trot over to say hello when they see you!
Before we set off on your alpaca experience, we’ll talk you through the basics of alpaca handling and share some interesting insights into the history of these wonderful animals. You’ll then be matched with your very own alpaca buddy, who’ll accompany you across the fields and hills on our scenic trek.
Alpaca trekking
As we begin our adventure, you’ll get a glimpse into the life of a working farm. From muddy tractors to fields of sheep and cows, kids and adults alike love spotting the day-to-day goings on of our traditional Welsh hill farm.
The countryside views continue as we cross the fields and hills, eventually reaching a trig point with epic 360° views of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Depending on the weather, you may be lucky enough to see famous mountains like Pen Y Fan, Corn Du and Sugar Loaf.
This is an ideal spot for photos – our alpacas aren’t camera shy, so be sure to take lots of selfies with them and tag us on Instagram!
Feeding and farewells
All good things must come to an end! We’ll head back to the farm and you’ll have the chance to reward your loyal alpaca with some tasty food before saying goodbye.
Be sure to pick up a souvenir from our shop before you head off – from fun t-shirts to premium alpaca wool products, we’ve got lots to choose from.
If you’re looking for somewhere else to visit while you’re in the area, we always recommend the Brecon Beacons National Park visitor centre. It’s only a mile from our farm and is a great place to unwind with food and drink while learning about the many activities and other things to do in the Brecon Beacons.
